On November 1st, the Ministry of Education established a new teaching steering committee for higher education institutions. Prof Zheng Jiangbin, Vice Dean of School of Software and Microelectronics, Northwestern Polytechnical University was successfully elected as one of its members.
The Committee is an expert organization set up in 1990. Each member has a term of 5 years. The term of the new members is from the year 2018 to 2022. All of its new members are experts in higher education who have been strictly selected and appointed by the Ministry of Education.
Zheng Jiangbin’s Biography ---- Male, Ph. D, Doctorial Supervisor, Professor of School of Software and Microelectronics, and the Director of State Training Center of International Software Talents, Xi’an. From July to December 2002, he worked as an Assistant Researcher at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. And from December 2004 to June 2005, he studied as a visiting scholar at the University of Sydney, Australia. His main research interests include computer vision, mobile media processing technology, image processing and artificial intelligence. So far he has won 7 awards for science and technology at the provincial and ministerial level, a provincial first prize for teaching achievement and two second prize for the national teaching achievement.
