University of Missouri Kansas City visits School of Software and Microelectronics, NPU

Invited by Professor Zheng Jiangbin, Vice Dean of School of Software and Microelectronics, Prof Kevin Truman, the UMKC Vice Provost and Dean of the School of Computing and Engineering and Ms Huan Ding, the International Affairs Director of the School of Computing and Engineering visited the School of Software and Microelectronics, NPU from December 7th to 8th, 2018.

During their visit, Prof Zheng and Foreign Secretary Xiao Chunxia had a meeting with them. On the meeting, they discussed about the further collaboration plans in the future. Currently, the School had signed “3+1+1” joint student cultivation agreement with UMKC and one student has already been studying in UMKC since this September. Besides, 12 undergraduates from School of Software and Microelectronics and School of Computer Science and Engineering joined the UMKC Summer Program this July. Next year, the School is going to send about 30 students to join the Summer Program.

On December 8th, Prof Truman gave a talk on the joint programs between our two institutions. Over 60 students attended the talk and many students are interested in the program and raised questions about studying abroad. Surrounded by enthusiasm of the students, Prof Truman answered all the questions in detail and encouraged more Chinese students to study in America and UMKC.
